About Us

In 2011 Polk County became a parenting education hub through the Oregon Parenting Education Collaborative (OPEC) to provide parent education and resources for families in Polk County.

Focus areas include:

  • providing families with coordinated services and support,
  • increasing parents' knowledge of child development & realistic expectations,
  • connecting parents with each other to build a strong support network,
  • increasing children's readiness to learn, and
  • normalizing parenting education.

In May 2016 the Polk County "Hub" was awarded an expansion grant. On July 1, 2016 the Polk County "Hub" became the Polk and Yamhill Regional OPEC Hub, also known as Mid-Valley Parenting. We are excited about expanding our focus areas with our partners in Yamhill County.
